Limits & things to know
- The PDF contains images, not text. There is no OCR step, so the result is not searchable or selectable — that is a scan, not a text document.
- File size follows the images. High-resolution photos produce a large PDF; compress the images first if the result must be emailed.
- Page size follows each image, so mixing portrait phone photos with wide screenshots gives a document with inconsistent page dimensions.
- Very large batches are bounded by browser memory, more tightly on phones than on desktops.
Troubleshooting
The PDF is too large to email
Run the images through the image compressor first, then rebuild the PDF. Image data, not the PDF wrapper, is what makes the file big.
An image was rejected
Only PNG, JPEG and WebP are accepted. Convert HEIC from an iPhone, or a TIFF scan, with the image converter first.
Pages are in the wrong order
Pages follow the order the images were added, not their file names. Remove them and add them again in the order you want, selecting one at a time.
Privacy & data handling
Images are read into browser memory and assembled into a PDF on your device with pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded — which is the point, given that receipts, ID documents and contracts are the usual inputs.
