Limits & things to know
- The more text you encode, the denser the code and the harder it is to scan small — keep URLs short, or use a redirect for long ones.
- The image is static. If the destination changes you must generate and reprint a new code, so point QR codes at a URL you control.
- Low contrast hurts scanning: keep the code dark on a light background with a clear margin, not over a photo or gradient.
Troubleshooting
Phones will not scan the printed code
Increase the printed size, keep a quiet zone of at least four modules of white around the code, and print on a matte rather than glossy surface where possible.
The code scans but opens the wrong thing
Include the scheme in the URL (https://). Without it, some scanners treat the content as plain text instead of a link.
