Pick from a range of voices to match the tone of a video, presentation, or accessibility use case.
Adjustable pacing

No script length cap
Long-form scripts can be converted without hitting a short trial-length restriction.
Limits & things to know
- This tool is server-assisted. The text you enter is sent to our server and forwarded to Microsoft's Edge text-to-speech service for synthesis. Do not paste confidential material into it.
- Requests are capped at 4,000 characters. Split longer scripts into sections and join the audio afterwards.
- Pronunciation of names, acronyms and technical terms is not always right; spell them phonetically if it matters.
- The optional voice cloning feature sends your voice sample and text to a third-party provider (ElevenLabs) and requires an API key. It is a separate, opt-in path with different privacy implications from the standard voices.
Troubleshooting
The request is rejected as too long
Requests are limited to 4,000 characters. Split the text into sections and synthesise them one at a time.
A name is mispronounced
Respell it phonetically in the input — the engine reads what it is given, and phonetic spelling is the reliable fix.
Voice cloning returns an API key error
Cloning needs an ElevenLabs API key, either configured on the server or supplied in the settings panel. Standard voices work without one.
Privacy & data handling
This is one of the few tools here that does not run on your device. Text you submit travels to our server and on to Microsoft's Edge text-to-speech service, which performs the synthesis; we do not retain the text after the audio is returned, but it does leave your machine. The voice cloning option additionally sends your audio sample to ElevenLabs. Treat both as you would any external service and keep confidential material out of them.
Free Text to Speech Online — Natural AI Voices, MP3 Download
Convert written text into natural-sounding speech and download the result as an audio file. A free text to speech generator with a range of neural voices and languages, useful for video voiceovers, e-learning narration, accessibility and proofreading by ear.
- Natural neural voices — modern AI voices with realistic intonation and pacing, rather than the flat robotic delivery of older speech engines.
- Download speech as audio — save the generated narration and drop it straight into a video edit, a podcast intro or a training module.
- Multiple languages and accents — pick a voice that matches your audience, including regional English accents and major world languages.
- Proofread by listening — hearing your own copy read aloud exposes clumsy sentences and missing words that silent re-reading skips over.
- Free with no watermark — no audio watermark, no sign-up and no per-character trial credit to run out of mid-project.
Trim the generated narration to length with the Audio Trimmer, and pair it with the Screen Recorder for a complete tutorial video.
Frequently asked questions
How natural do the voices sound?
Quality varies by voice choice — browser-native voices are fast but more robotic, while higher-quality voice options sound noticeably more natural for narration work.
Can I use the generated audio commercially?
Generally yes for most use cases, but always check the licensing terms of the specific voice engine used, since some cloud voice providers have their own usage terms.
What audio format does it export?
Narration downloads as a standard audio file (MP3 or WAV depending on the voice engine used) ready to import elsewhere.
Is there a character limit per conversion?
Long scripts are supported, though very long text may be processed in chunks depending on the voice engine's constraints.
Do I need an internet connection?
Browser-native voices can work offline once the page is loaded, while higher-quality cloud voices require an active connection.
