Limits & things to know
- This is a trimmer, not an editor. There is no fading, normalising, noise reduction or multi-track mixing.
- Decoding support depends on the browser. Uncommon codecs, and some DRM-protected files, will not load at all.
- The whole file is decoded into memory, so very long recordings can exhaust a tab on a phone.
- Cutting at an exact sample boundary is limited by the precision of the selection controls; for frame-accurate work use a desktop editor.
- The export is WAV, which is uncompressed and therefore much larger than the MP3 you may have loaded. Convert it afterwards if size matters.
Troubleshooting
The file will not load
The browser cannot decode that codec or container. Convert it to MP3 or WAV in a desktop tool first, then trim.
The cut clips the first or last word
Move the start point slightly earlier and the end point slightly later, then preview again — a small margin is safer than an exact cut.
A long recording makes the tab unresponsive
The entire file is decoded into memory. Split the recording in a desktop tool first, or work on a machine with more RAM.
